BILLING INFORMATION

Dear Patients,

We want to let you know about an important change at our practice. From October 6th 2025 we will be moving from a fully bulk-billed service to a mixed billing model.

This was not an easy decision.  We have provided bulk billing to ensure healthcare is accessible for everyone. However, the reality is that the Medicare rebate has not kept pace with the actual cost of providing quality medical care. Rising expenses for staff, equipment, compliance, and the time required to provide thorough, safe, and caring consultations mean that continuing to bulk bill every patient is no longer sustainable.

Our priority has always been, and will continue to be, providing the highest standard of care to you and your family. Moving to a mixed billing model allows us to:

• Ensure we have the time to listen and provide comprehensive care, not rushed appointments.
• Retain and expand our team of experienced, caring GPs and nurses who are committed to your long-term health.
• Continue to invest in the facilities, technology, and services that keep your care safe and up to date.

We understand that changes like this can cause concern, and we want to reassure you that:

• Bulk billing will still be available for children 15 year old and younger, pension card holders, healthcare card holders, and DVA patients.
• Out-of-pocket fees will apply to most other patients, with the rebate from Medicare still covering a significant portion of the consultation.
• Our reception team is happy to explain fees clearly and help you claim your Medicare rebate on the spot.
